In this book she offers factual, hilarious and candid answers to thirty-five of the most interesting questions posed by her youngest fans, sharing the lore and science of what happens to, and inside, our bodies after we die. Very Accessible
A quick and lively book about a subject many of us are interested in but don't ways know how to approach.
Caitlin Doughty reads her own work exceptionally well. More than a hint of gallows humour about both her style and subject matter but at no time does she ever lose the obvious respect she has for either the deceased or those left behind to mourn.

wonderfully honest!
I have previously watched her YouTube videos and was delighted to hear she had books out. Wonderfully honest answers to children's questions done in a respectful way. Being educated does take some of the fear away from death and the not knowing.

I always enjoy listening to Caitlin talking about death. Her personality shines though as she is reading, as if you're having a conversation with her. Highly recommend if you're in the mood to learn some weird death facts.

A real and honest look at death
An incredible book that does not shy away from the humor of the author who did a fantastic job of narrating. It has comforted me about the thought of death, and soothed my fears of seeing the ones I love go.

A friendly guide to all those questions!
A really kind, gentle explanation for everything that you could be curious about death. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is curious or anxious about death, dying and funerals. As always our Mortician friend takes us through things with a gentle, funny outlook, but the whole book is incredibly respectful too.

Loved it
Signed up to Audible for.this.book. It did not disappoint. Informative and witty, asking questions that I had certainly never thought of.
I stumbled across Ask a mortician and became hooked on Caitlins frank but gentle approach to answering all things corpse related. As someone who *seriously* doesn't like to think about death in any capacity, I was a little nervous watching the first video (which was about closing the mouth after death, if you're interested) but found myself thinking that a natural burial almost feels like dead me could be going on holiday.
Anyways, I found the questions posed by children to be quite fascinating as, in truth, if never *really* considered the questions children may have in regards death/dying/dead bodies.
Caitlin answers them in an honest but um, fun way which is informative for younger folk without being scary. I type this as a 35 year old future corpse and I really enjoyed listening. :)

Answering questions even adults have
I may be biased as I love watching Caitlin but…
This book is amazing and I love being able to hear her speak. When Caitlin writes you can almost hear it in her tone, pace and can even internally hear the laugh at her jokes especially if you’ve watched her YT videos but even if you haven’t watching her videos you can now hear her tone if you chose to read her other books.
I love having this book on hand for any questions my niblings have (ages 7-3 currently) to even people like my uncle (age 68 currently). It’s intriguing and very relatable. This book isn’t hard to understand as it’s based at aiming for kids but also delights the wonders adults such as myself have about death.
I recommend this to everyone who is curious with wonder. She is respectful and delightful to listen to.

Dark, witty, funny and educational
Even given the subject matter, this is a breeze to listen to, partly because of the fascination of death that we all share, partly because the author/narrator. Recommended for young and old alike!

The best person to tell you about death
Caitlin Doughty is a very charismatic woman with a lot of interesting stories, experiences and facts to tell. If you enjoy watching her YouTube videos Ask a Mortician or listen to her Podcast called Death in the Afternoon, you’ll love her books. She’s funny and someone that is not afraid to tell us the truth about death. It’s not all pretty but every chapter was a delight. Well written, great narration and overall excellent experience.
