Publisher's Summary

A USA Today best seller!

A sizzling, stand-alone, feel-good winter romance from Tessa Bailey, New York Times best-selling author of It Happened One Summer.

Two weeks before Christmas and all through Manhattan, shop windows are decorated in red and green satin. I'm standing alone in front of the famous Vivant department store, when a charming man named Aiden asks my opinion of the décor.

It's a tragedy in tinsel, I say, unable to lie. He asks for a better idea with a twinkle in his eye. Did I know he owned the place? No. He put me on the spot. Now I'm working for that man, trying to ignore that he's hot. But as a down on her luck girl with a difficult past, I know an opportunity when I see one—and I have to make it last.

I'll put my heart and soul into dressing his holiday windows. I'll work without stopping. And when we lose the battle with temptation, I'll try and remember I'm just window shopping.

I will have to buy the book

Tessa Bailey and holiday romance?? Yes, please. These narrators had me returning the book before the end of the second chapter! The male narrator’s accent is horrible. He sounds so much better when voicing other characters. The female has. Canadian accent but trying to hide it? Or is the other way around? In any case I am actually enjoying the plot so far, but there’s no way I could get through seven hours of that male narrator.

my favorite Tessa Bailey book

Well earned HEA for the Grumpy Heroine and Sunshine Hero. Ted Lasso-esque and I was THERE for it!

Absolutely Loved it!!

A feel good story with a great plot and good writing. This book was such a perfect mix of romance, spice, unconditional love, forgiveness, hope and everything that makes a story good. It left me feeling so light and fluffy and I just love it!

Super cute holiday read

I really enjoyed this one. It does have some spice so if that’s not your thing don’t get this one. But Tessa Bailey is the queen of writing sweet books and sprinkling the spice in at just the right moments.

Truly Awful

The male narrator’s accent is distracting and the storyline is not even remotely believable or like-able. I couldn’t finish.

Window Shopping by Tessa Bailey

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Age gap
-Grump (h) x Sunshine (H)
-Forbidden (boss x employee)
-Smitten hero
-Christmas romance
-Dual POV
-Standalone

This was exactly the type of Christmas romance I was looking for!! This book follows Stella (an ex-con looking for a fresh start) and Aiden (the manager of a high-end department store). One day Aiden sees Stella standing outside their display window and is instantly smitten. Without knowing he’s actually the store manager, she starts telling him what she would have done differently with the window. Unbeknownst to her, Aiden is actually in the market for a new window dresser so he encourages her to apply. I absolutely loved this take on the reverse grump x sunshine trope. Stella was a real grinch at times (which was completely understandable given her past experiences and reservations about the future), so it was sweet watching her slowly melt and recognize that she’s worthy of her own HEA. I was obsessed with Aiden and his collection of bow-ties. He knew that Stella was meant to be his from the moment he laid eyes on her outside of the department store. There was nothing that Stella could have revealed or done that would have impacted his complete adoration of her, which was so swoon worthy. I’d recommend this one to anyone who has historically loved Tessa Bailey’s writing, characters, and spicy times.

Pretty terrible

I love Tessa Bailey but hated this. The story was blah and completely unbelievable. The narrators were painful. Definitely skip this one. Honestly I’m shocked I even listened to the end.

Narrators and story WORTH the credit!

I'm so glad I did not pay attention to the one or two reviews I saw complaining about the narrators. I don't even know what they are talking about. I am from Kentucky and I can tell you that his Tennessee accent is pretty on point! Sure, he lapses a couple of times but I thought he did a great job and I loved the female narrator as well! The story was so helpful and fun! And spicy! Really enjoyed it. Great job, Tessa!

Ehhh

It was a fine store. I didn’t buy the crazy instantaneous attraction and love that happened in like a week. I think they could have slowed down the pace of it a bit and it would have been more palatable.

Sweet and Saucy

Loved whole story - it was a great change of pace to the usual ex con hero by having the previously incarcerated main character be the herione. And Tessa Bailey delivered in spades.
Both voice actors were wonderful and added emotion and depth to the story.

slow start but really enjoyable

2 super quirky (and unashamedly so) main characters that you can't help but love. I would have like the MC's main conflict to be unpacked in a more extreme way, but otherwise, a lovely Christmas read.
