Terrible Narration

The narrator sounds like he’s chatting in a cave. The material is jumbled and hard to follow.

Awkward English Audio Book

I listened to the English version narrated by Damian Kemper. It felt as though this was translated poorly from another language and read by someone that knows nothing about wine. For example: the narrator mis-pronounced many wine varietal names and said zero where it was obvious to me oxygen was the intended word. This happened consistently throughout the book. It contained good information but there are many better audio books about wine where the narrator correctly pronounces the wine varietal names and are not so full of grammatical errors that make the book so awkward.

Loved it

I just love this book. The content is presented in a much less intimidating or traditional way, without losing the learnings. I have to get some posters now too!

Informative

I love this! There's so much info. You can listen it straight through, or you can select different chapters/subjects that appeal to you at any given moment. On the one hand, I wish there were more color pictures, but on the other had more color would send the price up and I think the price is excellent for so much content.

Great Book

.Whatever you want to learn on wine she's covering it in a way you can read it. It's part of a wine class I'm taking so way better to get it from Amazon than the school bookstore.

I've drunk a lot of wine over the years so I've looked at a number of books to broaden my understanding and enable me to make better choices. While I've learned a bit, I've mostly gotten confused and found my memory fails me when standing in the wine store or looking at the restaurant wine list.

You won’t feel the need to rush through the book, but enjoy using what you learn and making it relatable at your own pace. When talking to winemakers, sommeliers and others in the industry, they are often surprised by how much we know as amateurs. Great buy!

step-by-step by drinking selections

The author has a very conversational style of writing, so it sounds like talking to a knowledgeable friend, rather than a hoity-toity expert. We love how it also encourages the reader to practice their skills step-by-step by drinking selections of wine for comparison.

Is this a Joke?

I honestly thought this was read and written by someone who is handicapped. This really isn’t worth your time.

Avoid

This I just a dreadful audio book. The contents and quality of the writing is poor but the narration is appalling. I feel like have been robbed using one of my audible credits.

Re-translate ...... please

I am sure the author knows their subject but the quality of the translation is poor. I spent my time translating the google English narrative into English, which meant I didn’t follow the insights being provided. Example is the grapes that are used as just fruit (rather than for wine) and called desk grapes.
