Story
Alan Bennett reads A. A. Milne's much-loved stories about a small bear and his friends. The collection includes Winnie-the-Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner and A Party for Pooh. What is the connection between a bear of very little brain and a honey pot? Usually it's the very sticky paw of Winnie-the-Pooh, as he takes a break between adventures for a little something. In these stories, Pooh goes visiting and gets into a tight place, Eeyore loses a tail and Piglet meets a Heffalump.

Story
The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, or any of the other giants - rather than the BFG - she would have soon become breakfast. When Sophie hears that the giants are flush-bunking off to England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!

A Charming, Savory, Perfect Pooh Dramatization
This is a charming, delightful, savory, perfect dramatization of about half of The House at Pooh Corner, with the following chapters from the original book:
1. In which Rabbit Has a Busy Day
2. In which Pooh Invents a New Game
3. In Which It Is Shown that Tiggers Don't Climb Trees
4. In Which a Search is Organdised
5. In Which Piglet Does a Very Grand Thing
The British actors are excellent at reading their parts, especially the narrators (two, a male and a female one, take turns) and Piglet and Eeyore. They infuse such wit and personality and understanding into their readings that the stories really come to life, making me smile and chuckle. The only words I could detect being abridged in the dramatization are certain dialogue tags like "Pooh said???"
If only the companion book, Tigger Comes to the Forest, had the chapters that are advertised for it, together it would make with Pooh Invents a New Game a complete House at Pooh Corner??? But check my review of Tigger Comes to the Forest for details about what's wrong with it.

Performance deserves TEN stars!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! The stellar cast on this recording does a truly amazing job. I couldn't believe what a difference it made (vs. a book read by just one person). The sound effects are wonderful as well; my children are always entirely absorbed in listening when this is on.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Oh, Judi Dench. Who knew you could do Winnie the Pooh as well as English royalty?
Any additional comments?

Instant favourite
My 3-and-a-half year-old daughter is a fan of the various Winnie the Pooh film and TV properties. So when I was looking for some new, and slightly more grown up, audio books to add to her library of 'quiet time' listening these seemed like a good bet.
We weren't disappointed. She loves them and with such classic stories and a truly top notch voice cast why wouldn't she?
I have purchased three of the collections so far and they have been the only requests since.
A lovely production and well worth a purchase.

Profiteering. Don't buy this one!
The only Winnie the Pooh books required are:
Winnie the Pooh and Winnie the Pooh: The House at Pooh Corner.
There are four other dramatised books for sale (Pooh Goes Visiting, Tigger Comes to the Forest, Pooh Invents a New Game & Piglet Meets a Heffalump) which have a few stories stolen from the main two books and I conclude are only for profiteering.
DON'T BUY THEM!
The performance and story are great and bought a tear to my eye, but I shall be after a refund for the four unnecessary ones.
