Story
Alan Bennett reads A. A. Milne's much-loved stories about a small bear and his friends. The collection includes Winnie-the-Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner and A Party for Pooh. What is the connection between a bear of very little brain and a honey pot? Usually it's the very sticky paw of Winnie-the-Pooh, as he takes a break between adventures for a little something. In these stories, Pooh goes visiting and gets into a tight place, Eeyore loses a tail and Piglet meets a Heffalump.

Great recording but be careful
Wikipedia has the listed titles to the House at Pooh Corner. Just be aware that Pooh Invents a New Game and Tigger Comes to the Forest are exactly what's in the House at Pooh Corner. Hopefully Audible will come along and list the chapters so people don't do what I did...

This Audiobook is faulty.
The story is well-read and dramatised, but the chapters repeat themselves, and are not in the right order so you can't follow the story. There is something very wrong and mixed up here, which spoiled the whole experiance for me and my children. Story 3 is the same as story 7, and at least 2 other stories are also repeated and out of order.

Wonderful presentation of this classic.
Dench and Fry read this in a style that keeps the whimsy of the book without crossing over into the twee. The voices are superbly cast - I particularly liked Kanga and Piglet. The slight Aussie accent for Kanga worked and Jane Horrocks' Piglet is how I hear it in my head when I read the book. Eeyore also is good. I particularly liked that this is the full unabridged and unedited text of the original book.

Charming and beautifully realized.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely, I don't even think that you need the excuse of having small children. A.A. Milne is whimsical enough on his own, but the cast brings these voices to life in ways I had never even been able to imagine, not a false note among them.
What other book might you compare Winnie the Pooh: The House at Pooh Corner (Dramatised) to and why?
The first in the series, 'Winnie the Pooh', though it's a bit obvious to mention it.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
They are varied enough that they are immediately distinguishable and so full of personality you expect them to walk out of your head, complete and large as life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but each chapter is great on its own, as well.

I forgot how wonderful the Pooh stories are!
Would you listen to Winnie the Pooh: The House at Pooh Corner (Dramatised) again? Why?
Yes. It brought me back to how I felt when I read these books as a child, but the story actually has other layers when you read or listen to it as an adult.
What other book might you compare Winnie the Pooh: The House at Pooh Corner (Dramatised) to and why?
This kind of reminded me of the Toy Story movies. The whole "toys have a life of their own" thing.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
The narrators/performers were very clear and easy to understand. They spoke in just the right tones, and it was easy to tell the various characters apart. The stories were read as if they were reading aloud to a child, but not talking down to the child.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Listening to Eeyore made me giggle. I didn't realize how sardonic he was when I read these the first few times as a kid. But the actor did a great job bringing the character to life and still making him likeable.
Any additional comments?
Listening to this book was an amazing experience. It made me very happy, and yet a little wistful.

Doesn't disappoint
As a long term lover of Winnie the Pooh I downloaded this book to remind myself of the exact text A.A.Milne wrote. I was slightly nervous about revisiting a childhood memory in the form of an audio book, as the people reading a story can ruin the voices I gave characters growing up, but these stars delivered well. My only complaint is that Stephen Fry didn't sing Pooh's hums, only speak them in rhythm. Glad I got both Winnie the Pooh and House at Pooh Corner.

Story
On a dark, wintry day, Eliza Grey receives a mysterious letter from her ailing Nana Mora begging her to come for a visit. This is an easy "Yes". Eliza has always preferred Nana Mora's beach cottage on St. Simons Island to the apartment she and her mom call home in the city. The island is a magical place where stories and legends grow as thick as the Spanish moss dangling in the trees. Now, Nana Mora's eyesight is fading, and there's something she wants to show Eliza before it’s totally gone: a mythical place locals refer to as Sirens Harbor.
