Story
Tommy Phan is a successful detective novelist living the American dream in Southern California. One evening he comes home to find a small rag doll on his doorstep. It’s a simple doll, covered entirely in white cloth, with crossed black stitches for the eyes and mouth, and another pair forming an X over the heart. Curious, he brings it inside. That night Tommy hears an odd popping sound and looks up to see the stitches breaking over the doll’s heart. And in minutes the fabric of Tommy Phan’s reality will be torn apart. Something terrifying emerges from the pristine white cloth....

This one has aliens, dogs, fires, and winter in Montana. He must like Montana, several stories are set there. It is a good story with a few twists and turns. But then Koontz is very good at that. It's a good book, try it.

A little out there...
Although I enjoyed the listen it was a little predictable. Almost a "Scary Movie" type of book. You knew what was going to happen, you knew the charactor was going to open that door and you knew what was going to be behind it. The reader was excellent and it was a pleasure to listen. I had gotten away from Koontz for a few years now switching to a different author and decided to give him another try. It wasn't disappointing but also not one of his best. The last chapter was really unbelivable and out there. While I would tell you to listen I would also tell you that he has alot better ones to listen to.

Well what more can I say than what's in the title? This book touches all the bases, it is well written and well performed. It's noce to have some consistency with an Author, and if you like one Dean Koontz story, you are probably going to like all of them. Christopher Lane is a fantastic Narrator as well.

A master's beginning...
I absolutely loved this original piece by Dean Koontz. Briefer than most of his work, but this is his beginning into his masterworks. Horror meets science fiction; he takes what you think you know if a genre and recreates it in your mind in a way that you could have never imagined...
