Childish

The MC is incredibly childish and petty. Learn a rule and the consequence is possibly death and minutes later break the rule. Genius. Lessons in how not to lay low and act like an idiot.

Probably meant for High School level readers.

Great beginning

Great beginning to what I’m sure is going to be a fantastic series. I can’t wait to see how the characters grow with their individual magic!

Fantastic narration!

Definitely would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the genre.

Could Have Been So much Better

Sierra Kline's performance was once again excellent. However there is no saving this book from itself. The Story is overall pretty good but the Main Character is just a child. The MC is rather lame in my opinion. He takes offense and starts fights that he shouldn't instead of focusing on survival given that he knows nothing about this new world. He is given magic and secrets of gaining more power yet he is incapable of being smart enough to prevent giving those secrets to his "Evil Masters" when all he has to do is tear a few important pages out of an already incomplete book. And don't expect any erotica in this book till more than 6 hours in.

If it wasn't for Sierra Kline this Audiobook would receive only 1 Star from me.

full marks in my eyes

very decent and well thought out World building. I feel everything is moving at a proper pace but I feel that maybe it should have been a bit longer. I actually don't mind the main character which in some of these kind of Harem books does get on my nerves but this one is rather understandable. I thoroughly enjoy when the main character is experimenting with magic and maybe go into more detail with how he experiments with the magic. the main character is a college student and in my opinion I feel that a lot of the High School level chemistry geology and physics understandings of our world would Translate to Greater fundamental understanding of the forces at which you can control on a much more refined level so maybe at a later time he might actually use some of his Real World Knowledge but in this book he doesn't use much of it if anything.

great story

I thought this book was excellent, in all ways . I thought I wanted more info in spots, but who doesn't? I am anxiously awaiting awaiting the next volumn . I will read the authors orher book on audible now. I like the writing.
Sierra Kline may be my most favorite narrator at this time. I think because during her story telling I think of nothing but the story. I notice no lack or over emphasis of anything. the perfect amount of stress and volume and voice changes. lol I think.....like I said .....I notice nothing except the story.
bring on the more ,we the listeners are ready. thanks

I can't get into this one

I honestly tried to stay with this book but I've lost interest. it started off cool but just now even mentioned the words study group two hours from the end. and there a lot of talking in the mind that leads no where. no real action and the actual study of magic takes a back seat to architectural history. I was hoping for more magic study and wonky spells and raging hormones. like what spell can get my dick bigger but nothing just fell flat. and the voice didn't always catch the feeling in the sentence or characters sounded a lot alike. just meh hope there are improvements in the future.

Yet another dumb gigachad MC

Sierra Kline once again saves a story, where the plot is generated by an idiot MC that can't back down, loves to peep through women's clothing without their consent, and doesn't really have the smarts to go along with whatever OP powers he stumbles into.
Seriously, most of the antagonists I've listened are more relatable and less annoying than this arrogant, creep of an MC.
Thankfully, the second half is a massive improvement, otherwise I would have returned.
