Publisher's Summary

Black Ops, Inc. operative Luke - Doc Holliday - Colter is taking some much needed down-time, making his way across the Peruvian Andes via rail, when banditos attack the moving train in the midnight hours. It soon becomes apparent that robbery is not their intent but the abduction of super model Valentina, who is traveling incognito while recovering from a public scandal involving her ex-husband, high profile US Senator, Marcus Chamberlin. Luke whisks Valentina off the train in a daring escape but the two of them become the targets of a relentless manhunt. Enlisting the aid of Luke's BOI teammates, they soon discover that Val's intended abduction is linked to a plot put in play by an international gun smuggling alliance. The BOI team led by Luke, with Val along as a necessary pawn, must race halfway around the world to thwart a ruthless attack that would not only result in a devastating loss of life but destroy a tenuous peace the US and her allies have established in a vastly unstable part of the world.

good story, great narration

I've read all of this series up to this book. It's in the romance pkg and narrated by Douglas Berger,; win, win. This story follows the other stories with Doc and Val. I liked both characters and the action around them was written well. I like that all Cindy's characters are written differently. Give this one a listen. Really good.
I think I'll go back and listen to some of the other stories I've already read.

My favorite in the series

Not only was this more engaging than the previous titles, the author refrained from completely insulting Peru and the Peruvian people. In the previous novels she absolutely decimated the countries and entire populations of impoverished people. Their neighborhoods were all rat infested and full of hardened criminals with nothing and no one good to redeem them. Thank goodness for growth!

I also thoroughly enjoyed the love story between Doc and Val. This is definitely the jewel of the series so far. I’m crossing my fingers that the final novel is just as good if not better.

OMG

I hate stupid people. I get independence but really this is really too much. I need to do this on my own is for a lot of things but not when someone is trying to kill you. Stupidly by her for thinking she is all that and more and him
for putting up with that.

Their paths cross on a train when bad men are trying to get her. She is disguised as a teen boy, so he helped without even knowing who she was. They then are on a run for their lives and along the way, fall in love. Fantastic adventure, thrills and steam. Narration was wonderful.

Good

This was book 6 in the "Black Ops Inc." series. Luke "Doc Holliday" Colter is taking some much needed down-time, making his way across the Peruvian Andes via rail, when banditos attack the moving train in the midnight hours. Enlisting the aid of Luke's BOI teammates, they soon discover that Val’s intended abduction is linked to a plot put in play by an international gun smuggling alliance. I loved Doc in the other books and was excited that he had his own book and Ms. Gerad did not disappoint. Doc is funny and loyal and strong and willing to do anything to keep her safe. I had to warm up to Val I mean the whole super model thing she was drop dead gorgeous it was hard to not dislike her. These two had a lot of chemistry. I also like the secondary character's in this series the team is awesome. I loved the narration as I listened to this book on audio. I am looking forward to listening to the next book in this series.

Busmans Holiday.

Black Ops, Inc. operative Luke - Doc Holliday - Coulter just needed a break. A chance to regroup and face the future after surviving death at the end of the previous book.

He never thought that he would meet his teenage crush Model Valentina whilst crossing the Peruvian Andes. Never wanted to get involved in a gun battle on a moving train in the midnight hours to save her. But he does, because that's what a hero does. Pity he's nobody's hero, not anymore....

Luke whisks Valentina off the train in a daring escape but the two of them become the targets of a relentless manhunt. Enlisting the aid of Luke's BOI teammates, they soon discover that Val's intended abduction is linked to a plot that could result in devastating loss of life and destroy a tenuous peace between the US and her allies.

So starts a race halfway around the world and a burning attraction between two very diverse people. Can these two people from different worlds ever hope to make it together in the long-term? Of course they can. But it will be hell of a ride to get there.

Another excellent addition to Cindy's edge-of-the seat, hot as hell romantic suspense series.

another great addition to the series

Douglas Berger did a brilliant job with the narration. I listened to each of the books in the series one after the other, a sure sign that they have kept me entertained and I only have the last one left now. the characters are lovable and the waythe books are written makes you want to know what comes next for them. each book features characters from previous books which makes it even better and adds more depth to the storyline. these special ops romance books have everything you'd expect and more. it's a great series.

now this was so much better

I was a little disappointed with wyatt's story but I really wanted to know how doc fared. And this plot didn't disappoint.
there was suspense from the get-go and it was really well put together especially having a celebrity introduced in such a way. I really enjoyed Val as being depicted as a strong woman because her background was exactly the opposite.
it amazes me that these men all turn to mush when the right woman appears. I nearly wanted to reach out and slap Luke when he had some not so nice things to say to Nate. but things seem to work out in the end. I thought maybe we were seeing the three new characters in play as vals bodyguards but remains to be seen .
it was nice to have Douglas back as a narrator and his tone and inflections were spot on.
I thought we were complete with Joe and Stephanie but it looks like Cindy has one more suspenseful story up her sleeve.
It is going to be unusual to hear a female narrator and I have heard some negative reviews but everyone is different so I will see how she goes.
so glad Cindy has returned to some military suspense Black Ops especially after wyatt which was a disappointing for me.
