Publisher's Summary

Happy. Married. Missing

"A gripping story of greed, lies and dark family secrets." (Lisa Jewell, New York Times best-selling author, on Just My Luck)

Leigh Fletcher: happily married stepmom to two gorgeous boys goes missing on Monday. Her husband, Mark, says he knows nothing of her whereabouts. She went to work and just never came home. Their family is shattered.

Kai Janssen: married to wealthy Dutch businessman Daan and vanishes the same week. Kai left their luxurious penthouse and glamorous world without a backward glance. She seemingly evaporated into thin air. Daan is distraught.

Detective Clements knows that people disappear all the time - far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run toward and others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. These two women are from very different worlds. Their disappearances are unlikely to be connected. And yet, at a gut level, the detective believes they might be.

How could these women walk away from their families, husbands and homes willingly? Clements is determined to unearth the truth, no matter how shocking and devastating it may be.

Number one Sunday Times best-selling author Adele Parks returns with her most provocative, compelling book to date.

Very Real Storyline But!!! left me wanting more

l this really makes me wonder about the author I'd love to get to know this person. To be able to come up with something like this there has to be a part of the author in the story. Didn't love the ending, it seemed rushed. leaves me wanting more hopefully there will be a second book I would love to know what happens after. very disappointed it left me hanging. I guess she had a deadline to make so she had to wrap the book up but was very disappointed in that. It's a good story!!

Predictable and unbelievable

The story was very unbelievable and I knew who did it the second time the character was as introduced. Disappointing

Unique!

First, where has this author been all my life? Second, don’t hesitate just get this book. Yes, if I could have picked a different ending I would have but it doesn’t take away from the excitement and insight and basically excellent writing in this book. Went straight from here and ordered another of her books.

Had Potential

The plot had a great twist. Definitely different than the rest and very promising. However the author’s editor must have told her to wrap it up fast. The ending was anti-climatic. The drama and suspense built within the first 2/3 of the book weren’t carried through to the end. Disappointed that the same care was not provided to the ending.

A Really Abrupt Ending!

I really enjoyed the story, character development and the narration. But then Wham! It ended. I definitely wanted more information about what happened next. Maybe the ending is preparation for a sequel, which I would definitely buy. There's alot more book left.

What a stupid ending.

Story drags on… and on…. And on…. Then ends like that???? What a waste of my time.

story has many holes

There were times when it held me, but then lost me. There were many holes in the story, you couldn't figure out who the "bad guy" was because the author made sure they had written glitches in. Don't recommend.

Winning narration, plot disappointing

Narrator Laura Aikman, a favorite of mine, shows off her exquisite vocals talents. Author Adele Parks’ “Woman Last Seen” had me at the beginning. Unfortunately, Parks’ plot slowly plummets and I found it ludicrous. I just didn’t care after a while. A letdown from Parks, the ending was absolutely ridiculous. Really??!. Aikman’s narrative skills are exquisitely well-done. I’ve been on an Audible winning streak, but this did not live up to my ecxpectations. Well, we can’t win them all.

Kept me guessing

This book kept me guessing until the last few chapters. I really thought I had it all figured out several times. Did not expect the ending either.

Not good

I kept thinking that there was going to be some crazy twists but the one I thought did it very early on was the guilty one and the reason they did it was exactly what I thought. The narration was good and the book wasn’t poorly written but the plot was really predictable. I did actually enjoy the ending the most. Probably because the abruptness was the only thing I didn’t see coming.
