Publisher's Summary

During the day, I work for Dylan McAllister, the hunky billionaire who became CEO of his own company at 30. He may be one of the hottest men I’ve ever met in my life, but he’s also the boss from hell. He has dazzling blue eyes that pierce into your soul and freeze your heart. He’s a known womanizer.

I call him AB to my friends, a.k.a. "Asshole Boss". He’s grumpy, demanding, and rude. And that’s on a good day. He’s definitely the worst boss ever.

The only reason I’m still his secretary is because I have debt up to my eyeballs, thanks to student loans and an ex who conned me into letting him use my credit cards. I’m counting down the days until I can quit and tell him to get his own coffee and lobster rolls. My calendar says that between both my jobs, I only need to work for him for three more months.

You see, Mr. McAllister has no idea that I, his “mousey little secretary”, have a night job just so I can quit as soon as possible.

That is until I end up at a bachelor party for his brother.

And then the real drama begins...because Mr. McAllister can’t seem to get over the fact that his boring secretary also pops out of cakes.

Meh

The only thing I didn’t like was how the narrator didn’t seem to be able to do multiple characters.
For the guy and the friends she just deepened her tone and slowed down her

Best Book Ive had listened recently

The banter in between Dylan and Abby is very funny. The sexual tension between the characters builds and builds, is exquisite. Red thus one first, but is nit going to make me deter from quickly start book #1 in the series.

Liked it but,,,

I felt like the mmc was a little unbelievable. He was really inappropriate with a new employee the entire time.

That aside, the story was good and the characters were fairly relatable.

Not my cup of tea…

Overall this book was not bad. But for me it just did not work.

In my opinion the storyline is choppy and a bit confusing. The male lead comes off as extremely socially awkward, that says a bunch of randomly sexual comments that don’t really make sense (but maybe how that is meant to be 🤷🏻‍♀️ it just didn’t seem like that was how this character should come across). Also the chemistry between the characters felt like it was missing so he came across as straight up harassing her, I don’t feel like the female lead really gave him any indication that she was interested. She was not really making sexual advances towards him and in fact kept telling him no and trying to get away from him so it all came off more as him harassing her for more of the book. Now if he could read her mind then it might be a different story, but overall in my opinion the storyline and characters just didn’t work for me.

worst plot ever

Just ugh.. So many annoying aspects to the book. A just out of school woman with incredibly high school debt gets ridiculously high paying PA job (>200K) and spends the first part complaining about what's expected of her because she didn't read her job description the day before because she was focused on what to wear. Talks to her friends about how she wants him after the first day. He's totally creepy boss for pursing her and how he goes about it... just hits all the wrong vibes.

That is inappropriate Mr......

Abby needing a job and the money to help pay her debt, take the job working for Dylan, a piece of work that makes every day harder than the next.

This is a story that you will fall in love with the characters. Dillon's standoff behavior to Abby's feisty sass makes their connection and banter electric as you get lost in the story as they push and pull their way to the HEA.

Worst boss NEVER!

Thoroughly enjoyed Dylan and Abby’s story! Fun, lighthearted, angsty, and sexy all wrapped into one! Worthy of a quick listen.

Excellent book?!

Although this book is not in my usual reading genre, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The only downfall was the narrator! He cannot manage a Scottish accent. You can hear his American come right through as he attempts to do so which spoils that section.

Apart from that, I would like to say that I commend this book to you. Although, I think that I'll be avoiding books where Ariel Royce is narrating!

Queen Elizabeth II, rest in peace 'well done thou good and faithful servant'. You made a vow when you were young, 21st birthday if I'm correct, that you would carry out your duties to the best of your ability for the whole of your life, whether it be long or short. I know that I can say without doubt, that you went above and beyond what was expected of you!. If our new King, Charles III, the UK and the other Commonwealth countries which have retained you as their Sovereign, are in safe hands! May you rest in Heaven with Prince Philip, your husband, rock and stay and love of your life for 73 years, whom The Lord called home last

Another great book in this series

I really enjoyed this book as much as I have the previous books in this series. It would work as a standalone though. Abby and Dylan have great chemistry and I enjoyed their banter. I loved that there was more to the story than just their romance and I really hope that we learn more about Dylan’s family, perhaps in a book about Kurt. I do prefer that the male parts are read by a male actor and the reader’s Scottish accent needs some work but it didn’t detract from the story at all in this book. Would definitely recommend.
