Publisher's Summary

From USA Today best seller Ella James—writing MM romance under the pen name Ellis James—comes an addictive enemies-to-lovers MM romance that audiences are calling one of the best love stories of the year.

It's true, I'm keeping secrets.

But I just found out one of his....

My new stepbrother is insufferable.

You'd think it wouldn't matter since I won't be here for long, but this guy gets under my skin like no one ever has. All-American, baby-faced, blue-eyed band dork and star soccer player. Everything about him is the picture of perfection—unlike me.

I don't think Do Gooder knows I'm starting senior year late. And he definitely doesn't know why. I've got secrets I'm taking with me to the grave.

Everyone thinks I moved to my dad's small town to play varsity football, but I've got other plans, and DG's trying to thwart them all. He's making my life worse than it already is.

Having him around is a damn plague. But I can fight back.

I found out a little secret about Mr. Perfect. He plays for the "other" team. That ball bat he's got stuffed into his gray sweatpants—it swings "that" way. The best part about this twisted game is when I find out it gets hard for me.

The Do Gooder...he wants me. I don't know why. But I know how to make him pay.

This story is emotional and so romantic, but it has some dark parts. Triggers include mental health struggles, trauma, abuse, drug use, and some themes that may be difficult for LGBTIQA+ listeners struggling with faith issues. All these things are handled as gently as possible.

Questionable.

Very few things in this book make sense. The story wouldn’t feel so out of place if these people were adults, but I often forgot that they were TEENAGERS. They’re having all of these sexual (and sometimes life threatening???) experiences in the house while the parents have absolutely no idea? Makes no sense. The audio performances aren’t the worst I’ve heard, but Ezra sounds demonic and mean all the time. It’s really bizarre. I don’t know, I’m usually here for the smut but this was mad weird.

My Ezra. My Miller. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I feel like I’ve waited forever for the audio of Miller’s story after being introduced in Vance and Luke’s story. I never imagined that Miller and Ezra would so completely steal my heart.

The Miller we meet in Wrath knows who he is and he’s comfortable with that, in spite of not being out to those closest to him. His entire world changed the moment he confronts Ezra Masters. He made the decision to save a life that would ultimately have the power to make or break his own.

Josh Miller is so completely likable and feels like the boy next door. He has freckles, plays drums and cello and plays soccer. He is good through and through. Ezra will challenge him at every turn and in spite of his cruelty, Ezra speaks to his heart in a mix of push and pull, frustration and anger with fascination and caring.

Ezra is a character that pushes everyone away, including the reader. You want to dislike him but know there’s is far more to him than he will ever willingly reveal. As Miller years down his walls, Ezra is building walls at higher and meaner. But sleep is where it all comes crashing down and Miller begins to own pieces of Ezra’s heart and soul.

Theirs is a story of survival, loss and desperation infused with bursts of hope and love without bounds. Both will spiral completely out of control and as they grieve, Luke and Vance bring light to a dark soul. What you know will be completely upended. What Ezra and Miller know will become new discoveries and the brightest of hopes.

Their story does not end there. Life brings victories and turmoil, but love and unquestionable support and friendship bring their journey to self-love and a future together.

Wrath broke me in so many ways. I hated what was happening and I know that it could be a very real part of someone’s life (no spoilers here). It definitely had some triggers but the beauty of the journey was so poignant. I need more Miller and Ezra, more Vance and Luke. I hope to get more to their story, their journey. This book has had me thinking all day before I could write this. I’ve felt unable to do reviews the past few books and Wrath gave me so much. I very much loved the audio book as Ezra and Miller cane to life and shared their story with me once again.

Great narrators!

TOO LONG!!!

WAYYYY TOOOOOO LOOOONG!!!
… and boring, and repetitive, and just a bunch of words that say nothing!

It’s like listening to one big long exaggerated lie. At some point she’s lost touch with the last lie she told and the story isn’t matching up. It dragged on endlessly forever! Honestly, this nonsense could have been cut to 1/3 of what it is and still been too much. ARGGGG!!!
I really just don’t have the energy to break down the problems with all this hot mess because I simply want to be done with it. RUN AWAY!!!

Josh Miller and Ezra, only love them! ❤️❤️

Wrath by Ella James is one of the sweetest, heart-wrenching, and hottest MM romances, enemies to lovers, I have ever read.

Now on audio, narrated by Iggi Toma and Tim Page. They have perfect voices for Ezra and Josh Miller.

Josh and Ezra, these two won my heart. Their story was the sweetest and at the same time so breathtakingly beautiful. The story of how they fell for each other, is so delicious and slow burn.

I love everything about Josh. He is my favorite hero and I love him so much. Ezra, I feel for him. His story, before he meets Josh, is not for the faint of heart. Brace yourself to feel all the emotions because I felt for them and every emotion possible. Sometimes I wanted to understand why he chose to do things that did not make sense to me. His connection and love for Josh are what made me love him as much as I love Miller. They are both amazing.

Ella James has a unique talent to write beautiful, sizzling, amazing, somehow heartbreaking and gripping love stories. This is one of them. She has become a one-click author for me.

Highly recommend reading and now to listen to audio. Wrath is unforgettable and I absolutely love these two beautiful souls - Josh and Ezra.

It left me in tears, much to my surprise!

There is plenty good story and characters and … of course sex to keep you listening and growing invested in Wrath. That’s all good.
And then came the closing chapters and I found I was so invested in these very relatable characters I cried at least four times once the overtime began.

Editing is a thing!

I’m not sure why this book has so many high ratings. It’s insanely long, repetitive, melodramatic, and — for long stretches — just plain boring. A third of this book could have easily been cut with no effect on the story. Finally, I think “torture porn” as a sub-genre of m/m romances (using homophobia to inflict pain on characters just to move the plot and create tension / conflict) is lazy and offensive. It needs to end immediately. Even the great Iggy Toma couldn’t salvage this mess.

Overall a must read!

First starting this book I didn’t know what to expect. It was riddled with heartthrobs and many embarrassing intimate moments. The author takes you on a ride never once derailing the main storyline. It gives you some real insight on very real issues and hits home for many of the lgbtq+. “Wrath” is a must read and I highly recommend this book to anyone with any interest in it.

was worth getting to the end

📖 Story comment: reasonable pace, complex characters, ended up being an interesting story.
I honestly struggled with the first half of this book, Josh & Ezra didn't feel like high school seniors, and it all felt like a lot of background noise and constructing the characters without really progressing the story in any particular direction.
At about the half way mark (just when I was ready to leave it for another time), it all started making more sense and got interesting. I enjoyed the second half of the book. My heart broke for Ezra and what he experienced, and in the end, I'm happy I stuck it out.

🎧 Narrator comment: I picked this title up primarily because I enjoy both it's narrators. I'm generally not a fan of multi narrator M/M titles - I think it's unnecessary when there are so many talented voice actors around these days. Either narrator on their own would have been a good choice for this entire book - in my opinion, 2 narrators was unnecessary.

Both Iggy Toma and Tim Paige did their usual stellar performance with their respective chapters/characters. They suited the characters giving them each their own voice (although Ezra did come across sounding older than he was), they have good timing, inflections and intonations and bought all the life and emotion to the story.

-------
📌 Where does it fall on my personal scale? 5 enjoyed it, but it was ultimately too long - next time i'll do the first hour or two, then skip to about the 10 hour mark.
• 1 not my thing • 2 didn't like the narration • 3 didn't keep my attention • 4 was good, but once was enough [3⭐] • 5 enjoyed it [4⭐] • 6 will listen again if i'm in the mood for the narrator [4⭐] • 7 goes on the "re-listen" list [4⭐] • 8 kept me up past bed-time [4.5⭐] • 9 recommended to family/friends [4.75⭐] • 10 own it in all formats [5⭐] • 11 keep a copy with me at all times [5⭐]

LONG BUT WORTH IT

I don’t usually write book reviews, but wanted to take a minute for this one. The story unfolds at a slow pace, but I think it is the right pace for the story told. It’s the story of a damaged boy, finding love for the first time in his life. Through love and acceptance, he is healed from the emotional abuse he has experienced. There are a lot of sex scenes, it is a romance novel.

I prefer to listen to rather than read longer books which may be why I didn’t mind the length of the book mentioned by other reviewers . I think the story is worth the time.

More than 5 stars

I have naively skipped MM for no reason really!
This was absolutely outstanding, beautifully written and the narration was simply perfect Iggy Toma and Tim Paige take a bow. I cried so hard in some places I had to take a breather to continue listening but yet smiled so long in other places my cheeks were literally aching this book will stay with for a long time I’m sure and will without a doubt hit my reread/listen queue

Absolutely stunning

I never write reviews and I have heard some amazing audiobooks but at the end of this one I find myself wanting to review. This book is a masterpiece but the audiobook is so much more. The emotions and the cliche rollercoaster is real and you will find more times than you can count that your heart will break and then build again. I strongly recommend you commit to the 20 hours (I know!), it is very much worth it.

A story that stays with you

This story has it all - what a ride…
So much hurt - but also so much love
I’m actually at a loss of words - it was just so powerful. An incredibly beautiful story that really moved me, it made me cry, laugh and hurt for the characters in a way that broke my heart - but it is also so full of hope and love that it mends the broken feelings. I highly recommend this book and the narrators did an outstanding job.

Heart wrenching and absolutely beautiful

This story or Ezra and Josh’s journey is absolutely beautiful. The way it made me feel things just blew me away. I was intensely angry and happy/frustrated the trauma felt in this book is also something I have never seen before. The narrators absolutely Brought the characters to life for me though like seriously amazing.

The only downfall for me was the actions the characters made after a specific event happened. The recovery of that process was frustratingly long. I definitely could only listen to this book once but that is just because it is sooo intense.

Definitely recommend giving it a go well worth it.
