Publisher's Summary

Author Wyatt Whitlock is one of the biggest names in action thrillers and writes for the largest publisher in the business. She’s extremely private and writes prolifically—well, until recently. Writer’s block may spell the end of her career if she can’t figure a way around it. A drastic change in scenery and a really old house in New Orleans could get her creativity going again, but renovating the house she bought on a whim might just kill her.

Hayley Fox has put in her time as an assistant to an assistant in publishing, and it’s finally paid off. She’s been hired by a firm in New Orleans and she’s planning to use that as a springboard to the big leagues in New York, if only her sexy new neighbor didn’t make staying put an oh-so-tempting option.

Wyatt and Hayley might be made for each other—if only they can get through noisy neighbors, the historic society, at-odds future plans, and all the secrets hidden in Wyatt’s walls.

A funny & spicy story. I really enjoyed it!

I am a big Ali Vali fan and read/listen to everything she writes. I was pleasantly surprised by this new book from Ali Vali. It was a bit different from her other stories and I must say I was impressed with the story! There were two things that I really liked about this book. The first is how funny the book was. She had some really funny moments in the book. Some of the things the other characters in the book said and did made me laugh out loud several times :-). The second is the sizzle from the writing of Wyatt, the author. That was some pretty hot stuff! This was a great listen. I listened to it in one day over the weekend and highly recommend.

Very entertaining.

Enjoyable listen. The story piqued my interest and delivered throughout. Some funny moments made the experience that much better. I enjoyed both main characters and rooted for them. There's a side story with this book to look forward to as it meanders nicely in the back round. Definitely worth a credit.

LOVED THIS!

Not sure where to start... this audiobook was easily finished in 2 days, because I couldn't stop listening. Absolutely loved everything about this. Wyatt is a successful writer, getting over the recent tragedy of both her parents. She can't seem to write and her agent is annoying so she buys an old house in New Orleans to fix up to get away from things. the lady next door must not realize Wyatt can see her in her shower and kitchen... soon both women are spying on each other, Wyatt as she wears a tool belt and tight jeans and Haley as she gets undresses.... it's a lovely build up as they don't officially meet for a while and when they do, chaos happens around them with crazy people from town, and they still haven't slept together. When they finally get together it's great. Loved both ladies and the odd towns people. Loved how Wyatt found out the history of the Fuller house she was living in and that and Haley helped with writer's block. Will definitely listen again someday.

A captivating read!

If you grew up anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon gay and left so much of this story will make sense in a way that’s more than entertainment. As NYC author Wyatt made her escape to NOLA I couldn’t help but chuckle as she encountered neighborhood diner ladies, fed the rumor mill with fantastical tales, and learned to navigate her new city. Without giving too much away it’s a story within a story that you just don’t want to put down.

Wyatt and Haley get a spicy introduction as neighbors. One that infatuates them both. Ali Vali will take you from lusty infatuation to growing abs with laughter over and over while weaving an entire cast of fun characters. Dare I say it’s one of the author’s best yet!

Mostly a mishmash of cliches

The humor got me through it but in general it felt like half the book was out of date cliches and the other half should have been classified as erotica.

Hot N Butch

Give new meanings to the
"Woman In The Window".
Dead Parents, Police Brutally is one of the fun things to happen. A great story to keep you busy and laughing and a little heartfelt in this Happily ever after story.

Keeps you guessing

Lots of twists and turns. It takes a while to get to them meeting for the first time which makes the beginning seem long. The story within the story (the journals) was my favorite part!
