Publisher's Summary

From UK bestselling author Gillian McAllister comes an astonishing, compulsively twisty psychological thriller about a mother who witnesses her teenage son stab a man and then seizes on an unconventional way to try to save him, deemed “perfection, every word, every moment” by Lisa Jewell.

Can you stop a murder after it’s already happened?

Late October. After midnight. You’re waiting up for your seventeen-year-old son. He’s late. As you watch from the window, he emerges, and you realize he isn’t alone: he’s walking toward a man, and he’s armed.

You can’t believe it when you see him do it: your funny, happy teenage son, he kills a stranger, right there on the street outside your house. You don’t know who. You don’t know why. You only know your son is now in custody. His future shattered.

That night you fall asleep in despair. All is lost. Until you wake . . .

. . . and it is yesterday.

And then you wake again . . .

. . . and it is the day before yesterday.

Every morning you wake up a day earlier, another day before the murder. With another chance to stop it. Somewhere in the past lies an answer. The trigger for this crime—and you don’t have a choice but to find it . . .

Leave out political views

I don’t understand the need that entertainers (singers, actors, and fictional writers) have for subjecting the public to their political views. It’s unnecessary and in all honesty off-putting! People read to avoid the divisive topics in the news!

Other than her input in to US politics- the book was good, story line could be confusing at times but it was unique and kept me reading.

Too bad politics can spoil a book

Good story too bad it has too be ruined by authors need to put anti trump politics in the story. Why do authors need to share when it is not needed in the story. Silly

Love this book!

I've listened to a lot of great books lately, and this one is no exception. The story was creative, and original, and the suspense was exciting. As the story unfolded and each clue was revealed I kept trying to put it all together and figure out the whole plot, but there were constantly new revelations that I hadn't considered, which continued to keep me on my toes. This unpredictability made it even more exciting. I was entertained from beginning to end! I highly recommend this book!

Finally!

This is probably the most enjoyable book I’ve read/listened to in years. I finished it in one day, couldn’t turn it off. It grabbed me from the very first chapter and it kept me invested until the very last. It reminds me of The Time Traveler’s Wife, which is one of my all time favorite books, but I love how this author focuses on the dynamic between mother and son for so much of the story.

Great Book

Great book and fun concept, but the author is clearly confused about which president is the crazy one.

Was not my favorite

This was not my favorite. Was anxious to be done but stuck with it. I feel it could have been a few hours less.

Ruined the story with that small portion of politics

The story was a little drawn out but interesting enough. I would have enjoyed it if it had not been for a English writer having to comment in the book about her political standpoint for our American president with these last elections. I get enough of that I’m every day life when I read it’s fiction I don’t care to hear about the authors opinion in these matters especially if they live another country.

Not just a great mystery....

By itself this was a great suspense story that held my attention from the first sentence to the last. I love this book, though, for the author's ability to communicate both the emotional devastation and joy in being a parent seamlessly within the story. I'm a working mom to three teenage boys, and I'm not sure I've ever connected to a character's feelings about motherhood so strongly, which was surprising to find in this type of fiction. Highly recommend!!!

So boring I could not make it past 4 hours ...

This book really drags on. I could not get through it. Not for me.
Held on as long as I could.
