I’ve been swept off my feet before, and I’ve got the bruises to show just how badly that ended. I’m not about to fall at the feet of the next man - or alien - to cross my path. Especially not when he steals me away from home and wants to use me as his broodmare. Kloran is intense and sometimes scary. A prince of his people with a duty so deeply ingrained it’s hard to see where it ends and he begins. But the glimpses of the man beneath the hardened warrior prince make me wonder if there’s something more between us.

Story
We’d heard rumors about the Vandar raiders — everyone in the galaxy had. Terrifying and ruthless, they were a scourge on the Zagrath empire and destroyed everything in their path. Few had actually laid eyes on the Vandar or the notorious warlords who led their fleets of warships — and survived to talk about it. So, when the ruthless aliens boarded our ship intent on destroying it and killing the crew, I did the only thing I could do. I gave myself to the dark and menacing warlord.

Publisher's Summary
Ynyr was a third male, and while he was a fit and worthy warrior, he had always known that no female would ever join with him. Too many looked down on his family because of his mother's refusal to leave his manno. He knew Ull would be able to overcome this because he was a first male and would one day be a lord; maybe even Vali, since he was a second male, but neither Ynyr nor his younger brother, Zev, would ever be acceptable to a female. The most they could hope for was to serve their house with honor, but that all changed with the arrival of the females from Earth.
Abby's life had not been an easy one, especially after the death of her family when she was 16, but she had thought things were finally looking up. She was a year away from achieving her dream of becoming a teacher. Soon she would be making a difference in the lives of children others had given up on...that all changed when she was abducted by the Tornians.
Ynyr and Abby had come together in the most unusual of ways, but that was just the beginning of their unique relationship. Together they had to do something no other lord and lady had to do. They had to take a house that had been destroyed by deceit and evil and turn it back into the worthy and respected house that it had once been. Will the secrets left behind by Bertos and Risa tear them apart? Or, will it be Abby's secret and Ynyr's reaction to it that does?

Still a 5 Star
Thanks to kindle this book still rates 5 stars. Because I could read the story and hear Ynyr's name pronounced as it was in the first two books. The sound effects also saved me from returning it! Love this series and do see all kinds of possibilities for many more books. The way these women worm their way around these warriors is just plain fun. Abby starts out extremely shy and scared silly in the first books. But really comes out of her shell in this one. M.K. Eidem is right at the top of my Author list because of this series. I would respectfully suggest that narrator's listen to previous books with odd names before attempting to narrate a story! Just finished Oryon and can hardly wait to get it from audible. The sound effects really makes the stories come alive in the audio version!!

SCORES ARE.... EARTH WOMEN 3 - TORNIAN WARRIORS 0
Abby and Ynyr had secretly met previously in book 2 unaware of who they were each talking to between the shrubs but now that Abby has found out who the mystery man is she doesn't waste any time in claiming the kind Tornian who gave her a shoulder to cry on and wise words when she least expected it but needed it most. So, as King Grimm had decreed that it is to be the Earth women who are the ones to pick and choose their mates, in front of everyone Abby nervously walks up to her chosen Warrior. And Ynyr, being the third son of a disrespected family, was blown away and in awe at the courage and beauty of Abby, this Earth woman who wanted him, because he never thought he stood a chance at being chosen..... even though he'd just been made a Lord.
However, the couple's trust, bond and love will be tested over and over again and their tempers will flare.... by the culture differences, by other's jealousies and by the daunting task of trying to put right the House of Bertos on a foreign Planet where the tension runs high because they don't know friend from enemy and not everyone is happy with the new Lord.... or his Lady. But Ynyr had been made Lord and given this task by King Grimm and he is going to try and, for his Abby, failure just isn't an option..... he did however come very very close not only to failing but also to losing Abby.
Another really enjoyable Sci-Fi romance where the Hero and Heroine were loving, tender, understanding and passionate towards each other - well for most of the time anyway because they encountered challenges and enemies along the way as well as an evil undiscovered puppet master who whispered poisonous thoughts into their minds. Tempers rise, blood will be spilled, a head will roll, angst and drama is never far away, Gods will interfere and the sex will be good but there's also suspense, surprises and a twist too when they discover they were never quite alone.
Worth a credit? A good story, likeable characters, a bit of sex, romance and danger made this listen entertaining. But what made it truly creditworthy was the dual narration where the male narrator gives voices to the male characters and the female narrator gives voices to the female characters and, by sticking to their own genders, this makes for a much smoother, easier to follow and more pleasant a listen. There was also the occasional sound effects which was fun.

Bland narrators!!!
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Narrators!!!! I am disappointed they didn't use the narrators from the earlier books in this series. The narrators for this book lack the ability to bring forth the emotions in the characters as the others did. These narrators are just reading the book to me and not bringing to life the characters. The sex scenes sound the same in inflection as if they are describing the scenery. I had such high hopes for listening to this book since the previous ones were both great but after the first hours of listening I may just read the book myself. In my mind I can bring the emotional content forth much better than these narrators.
What other book might you compare Ynyr to and why?
I would only compare this book to its predecessors "Grim" and "Wray" because the story itself seems to meet the same level of intensity. I'm just disappointed that doesn't come out in the narrated version.
Would you be willing to try another one of Ian Gordon and Jennifer Gill ’s performances?
Not likely.
Was Ynyr worth the listening time?
Sad to say no but only because of the narrators.
Any additional comments?
I love this book series and again the story itself is good, its just the performance of it falls FLAT.

What the hell happened to the narrators?
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I loved the other books in the series with narrators Commodore James and Laura Jennings. Unfortunately someone made the terrible decision of going with two narrators that ruined the entire pace, sound and feeling of the story.
Would you be willing to try another book from M.K. Eidem? Why or why not?
I'm undecided.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Absolutely.
Any additional comments?
I can't tell if the story itself is any good simply because the narrators are so bad.

Long awaited audio
I have read all of the books in this series and enjoyed them very much, so I decided to get all of them in audio. The narration is horrorable, they sound like they are sitting in a tin can. Continuity is important, and this narrator has changed the names and places, such as the planet is Rigel, not ryegal. I will finish the book, but if this narrator does any of the other books in the series I will not buy them.

Making of a New Lord & Lady
M.K. Eiden had changed the story line from the start as Abby went in front of all of the most eligible males of Tornian and picked a Warrior, Ynyr, who is a third born male and was very kind to Abby by talking with through the hedges when she just arrived from Earth. Ynyr was also given the Lordship of an area that was deeply abused by its previous Lordship & who was executed on the assembly floor with his ladyship.
Ynyr and Abby have more than their share of problems trying to re-establish a community that was based on hate, distrust, and abuse of privilege. They also had to learn how to love each other too.
The other characters from the previous books pop in briefly, making this book a pleasant different read.

Narrator Change?
Love, love, love the book. I read the kindle version before this came out. I love how shy Abby starts out, and how strong she becomes.
I really dislike the narrator(s) changes though. Names are all different! Ynir- Yeh-near is yay-nar now? It sounds awful that way! Rigel - Rye-jel is rye-Gel. Risa- reesa to rye-sa. There were a few more different as well no spent the whole book growling the original pronunciations to myself.
I did like Ian Gordon reading the Spectr series, though. He's got some kind of southern-ish draw that I enjoy.

Ynyr and Abby are the sweetest of couples. The ability the have to love unconditionally is amazing. The fact that Abby is so sweet and forgiving, yet mostly loving is the epitome of their relationship. She teaches Ynyr to love and forgive and mostly understand.

Would you be willing to try another one of Ian Gordon and Jennifer Gill ’s performances?
No, I had enjoyed this series so far, (a bit of a guilty pleasure), sadly this book disappointed, not the storey line, simply because they replaced the original narrators, (I hate when they do that mid series). I felt neither of the new narrators were great, they didn’t seem to use any inflection in their voices to carry you along with the storey, both were quite flat.
Any additional comments?
One thing which was most annoying, was the use of Ynyr’s name, he was introduced in the second book, (Wray), as, ‘Ynear’, which, if you look at the spelling, makes perfect sense. In this book, the narrators have changed his name to ‘Yaynar’, adding two A’s, which are not there, you’d think someone would be monitoring for continuity errors, no?
Sadly, the Tornians storey will have to go on without me as the next book has the same narrators.

I love the books in this serie
I like this book very much. It is only a pity the pronouncion of the name of Ynyr is with an a and in the book Grim it is with an ie/y.

love the series and the author. If you like this there is another series set in the same universe by this author I would recommended you read or listen to them too. Can't wait for the next one.

Repeated story line
There was no story line. it dropped in and out in between repeating everything over and over. it also retold Lisa's and Kim's story.
you could make a drinking game out of it by doing a shot every time they said worthy warrior.
I loved the first book in the series. the second book was ok. but this one is bad. so bad that I won't be getting the next book in the series. I don't want to waste the money. which is a shame because this series is unique in the fack you have a male reading the book. and a female reading her lines.

Wow
I love this series, the voice actors do a good job, but I would prefer a little more diversity in the actors (a different voice actor for each voice would make it much more appealing)
