Publisher's Summary

Padding

In school our teachers would warn us against padding, going off topic just to fill in. Carrere set out to write a book about yoga (in its widest sense) and ended up mostly padding. He would maintain that all these digressions hang together, have a subtle coherence. I don't agree. I do agree when he says that he is a bad advertisement for yoga and meditation, which he has practiced for many years. The Bhagavad Gita tells us that yoga is equanimity. The author is not even close. The reading, however, was excellent.

Good narrator

but fed up with Carrère - liked previous novels but this is so self-obsessed.
