Story
It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions. Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself.

With Dream Yoga, Andrew Holecek guided us into Tibetan Buddhism’s nocturnal path to lucid dreaming. Here, he offers in-depth instruction in the tradition’s daytime practices. “Waking experience is also a type of dream”, teaches Holecek, “and things are not as solid and real as we think. This insight is what transforms a non-lucid life into a lucid one.” For those drawn to Tibet’s profound teachings for awakening to the true nature of reality - in the day or night - this guide shows us the way.

Your soul signature is your spiritual DNA - it is who you are at your core, the most authentic part of you, your singular contribution to this world. And yet we reject our authentic selves. We allow our soul signature to become blocked by any number of emotional obstacles that life throws in our path: anger, fear, guilt, shame, sadness, despair. Any or all of these feelings overtake us and create a density, a heaviness that doesn’t permit us to embrace who we truly are, deep inside. We are energetic beings, Panache Desai reminds us, and emotions are energy in motion.

Yoga nidra is really a very simple technique for achieving samadhi, which means "perfect union" or "oneness". You simply need to keep your eyes closed while you are practicing yoga nidra. You’re breathing, and your mind should be in the state of samadhi. If you can keep your mind in the state of samadhi, then you have already achieved a lot of yoga's goals.

"Secular" Buddhism for greater wellness
- By connie on 06-07-08
By: Jon Kabat-Zinn
Publisher's Summary
Yoga nidra is the master key to initiating shifts in conscious sleep states where change happens outside of doing. In yoga nidra, you enter a state of non-doing in which transformation happens from beyond the mind rather than through the mind. In this highly regenerative meditative state, you can restore and rejuvenate your body, heal and recover from illness, and rewire your brain for greater mental and emotional balance and resiliency.
This comprehensive guidebook explores the core of Yogic philosophy and modern applications of yoga nidra backed by scientific research - affirming what Yogis have known for thousands of years. You will receive instruction on the practice of yoga nidra and the use of intention. You will discover how unconscious thinking patterns and resulting biochemical states contribute to ill health, stress, insomnia, depression, anxiety, bad habits, trauma, and addictions and most importantly, how to neutralize them with the six tools of yoga nidra.

Incredible book, distracting extremely poor reader
Only buy it in print. I don't know why the author didn't read it herself. She is an incredible public speaker. The reader was pitiful to listen to. Over enunciated with a contrived prosody and dialect that is distracting from the prose. They should have someone else re-record it.
The book is clear, profound, yet down to earth. The author is a very special teacher of mystical concepts making them easily understandable through simple examples and connecting science and mysticism. Her technique is one of the best.

Great book horrible narrator!
I own this book, loved it, and purchased the audio as well. I should have listened to the sample and, if I had, would not have purchased the audio. The content is fantastic and I highly recommend reading it. I found the narration to be quite difficult to listen to. Ms. Scott reads in an excessively slow fashion. To me, there is no way this book should take over 15 hours to read. Ms. Scott also enunciates in an annoyingly protracted way, as if she's directing her words to individuals whose second language is English, not their first. If this type of narration is acceptable to you, you're in for a lengthy audio, and may indeed enjoy it just as it is. I double-timed the pace to 2.0 and finished the book in half the time. The final part of the book is a guided yoga nidra meditation and Ms. Scott's narration at 1.0 pace was okay for that. Sorry to be so negative about the narration - because the book itself is outstanding - but I stopped and started it several times before moving the pace to 2.0. I recommend that anyone considering purchasing the audio listen to the sample first.

unbearably inauthentic narrator
the reader mispronounces the author's name and subject title in her first breath, and it's downhill from there. I've heard small children read with more conviction. could not get through chapter 1, which is a disservice to the author. the subject itself is immensely important. what a disappointment. for the record, I teach nidra, and there are videos of the author on youtube pronouncing her name (not difficult or challenging).

15 hour Infomercial
This book is very reminiscent of an infomercial rather than a science based explanation of the practice of Yoga Nidra. The author references studies, but mostly in a generic Yoga Nidra is wonderful sort of way. There is little to no discussion on the order of a Yoga Nidra script and why it’s in that order.
Very disappointing, if your intention is to understand why and how Yoga Nidra is effective. If you just want to spend 15 hours being convinced to take a Yoga Nidra class, this might be for you.

Beautiful and insightful
This book was crafted to educate and share knowledge about the art and science of Yoga Nidra. It explored the heritage of Yoga Nidra and it’s potential to be a healing influence in modern life.
I relaxed into the gentle and positive tone of voice of Siiri Scott and although this is a long listen, I could listen to it little and often so that I concentrated on the content.
I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in understanding the benefits of Yoga Nidra.
