Story
Once upon a time, when her dad married Sage’s mom, Daisy was thrilled to get a bright and shiny new sister. But Sage was beautiful and popular, everything Daisy was not, and she made sure Daisy knew it. Sage didn't have Daisy's smarts—she had to go back a grade to enroll in the fancy rich-kid school. So she used her popularity as a weapon, putting Daisy down to elevate herself. After the divorce, the stepsisters' rivalry continued until the final, improbable straw: Daisy married Sage's first love, and Sage fled California.

Publisher's Summary
The New York Times best-selling author of the Fool's Gold romances invites you to visit Happily Inc., a wedding destination founded on a fairy tale.
Sculptor Nick Mitchell grew up in a family of artists and learned from his volatile father that passion leads only to pain. As he waits on a new commission, he takes a day job as a humble carpenter at a theme wedding venue. The job has its perks - mainly the venue's captivating owner, Pallas Saunders. Although he won't let love consume him, for ecstasy with an expiration date, he's all in.
Pallas adores Weddings in a Box. But if she can't turn the floundering business around, she'll have no choice but to cave to her domineering mother and trade taffeta for trust funds, working at the family's bank. Then when a desperate bride begs Pallas for something completely out of the box, her irresistible new hire inspires her. Nick knows she doesn't belong behind a desk, and she knows in her heart that he's right - where she really belongs is in his arms.

Snooze Fest?!?!?!
Sadly this book, probably is a better read than a listen too. Tanya Eby was extremely painful to listen too. I think that is why I now shy away from Susan Mallery's books. If you can get Therese Plummer as she has used in some of her other works. this would probably be a much better listen!

Amazing!
I absolutely loved this story. It's my first Susan Mallery book but it certainly won't be my last. I loved the variety of characters introduced and the hints of a backstory you got from each one. I found myself disappointed when the characters were disappointed and excited when the characters were excited. This story completely sucked me in. It took me less than 4 days to finish this book and I'll be moving on to the second one tonight. Definitely worth the read/listen.

Enjoyable Fluff
Exactly right when you want light, stress free reading. Easy to go in and out of if you read (or listen) as I do in snatches here and there. Main male character a bit too perfect in the relationship to be true but believable enough.

Lots of inner dialogue
I loved that this book was full of strong female characters doing wonderful things with their lives. Also, that the men respected them and did not attempt to dominate anyone. The thing I did not like so much was the amount of inner dialogue that the main character went through for every decision. It felt like there was ten minutes of mental chatter before any action, which became tiresome over time. For example things like I wanted to tell him what I thought but I couldn't, could I? If I did, then blah, blah, blah yet if I did not then blah, blah, blah. Meantime he is standing there staring at her. It would have been great to have a bit more action.
Other than that, this was a fun read and I loved Susan's creative flair. The characters were all believable and I loved the plot of a wedding planner that thought outside the box.
