Retirement planning was simple and predictable 40 years ago. All you needed was your company pension, personal savings, and Social Security. Those days are long gone. Most public pensions are underfunded, and private companies can't get rid of them fast enough. Social Security's own trustees predict it will run out of money in less than 20 years. And most people haven't saved even a fraction of what they should.

Story
Recent statistics suggest that nearly two-thirds of Americans regret not planning properly for retirement. We tend to underestimate the key factors of retirement planning: our total lifespan; the probable length of our retirement; and, perhaps most significant, how much money we’ll need to fund those years in retirement. In fact, retirement planning can feel so overwhelming that many of us put off thinking about it at all until it’s too late to make the necessary changes.

The Bogleheads' Guide to Investing is a DIY handbook that espouses the sage investment wisdom of John C. Bogle. This witty and wonderful book offers contrarian advice that provides the first step on the road to investment success, illustrating how relying on typical "common sense" promoted by Wall Street is destined to leave you poorer. This updated edition includes new information on backdoor Roth IRAs and ETFs as mainstream buy-and-hold investments, estate taxes and gifting, plus changes to the laws regarding Traditional and Roth IRAs, and 401k and 403b retirement plans.

Some good advice; Lots of Liberal Drivel
Decent in the financial fundamentals, but goes awry with too much socialist-leaning editorializing on "systemic issues" that need to be "fixed," instead of acknowledging that the system in place was created by a democracy (meaning a majority of people have chosen/endorsed it) and stressing that people need to take responsibility and ownership for the impacts their choices have on their retirement preparedness. Choosing to ignore the realities of the way things are and expecting others (who worked hard and made the sacrifices) to pick up your slack and bail you out seems like bad advice. For a more logical, centrist view, give Basic Economics, Fifth Edition by Thomas Sowell a try.

No Table Of Content Makes is hard to follow
For me the fact that the Audible version has a Table of Content with no titles other than Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc .. that no not even match the book, was frustrating to find a review material.
Why bother doing an audio version with such a Table of Content?
Additionally, as expected there a lot of words and numbers that are better suited to a visual presentation but I guess that's why I also bought the Kindle version.
Just my 2 cents.
Thanks!
