Mediocre; few actionable take-aways.

Your Next Five Moves seemed like a must-read strategy book. The author tries to connect skilled business people with chess grandmasters. it's a weak thesis and never really connects with the content and information presented. in most chapters, the author is simply trying to recall what he did 10-15 years ago. Given this, it is hard to connect with much of the background info and narrative. It is just not compelling; it is a mediocre text at best; and, by the end of the audiobook I was really like, " So what? Where are the real take-aways to help me grow a sustainable and profitable business?"

Too much fluff

I got halfway through the book and gave up. I'm a huge fan of the author, but this book has way too much fluff! You're better off checking his content on YT way more actionable and useful.

Meh

If you like his YouTube channel, you’ll enjoy this because it is the same style. Lots or common business and self-help, but little original or useful deep dive info. I love business and entrepreneur books, but this was just meh.

Truly art in literature

As a young entrepreneur I’m always skeptical on the information I take in. I don’t want to be misled and want to avoid any mistakes early on my career if possible. Patrick manages to dissolve my concerns early on in the book, as well as drown me in 16 chapters of non stop value. The lessons and strategy skills I pulled away from this book have literally fired me up. I can’t wait to start applying everything to my business practices and forward this book over to my team. If you’re new to entrepreneurship do yourself a favor and just give it a listen.

I AM my WHY!

This is a must listen MASTERPIECE for me. The author, Patrick Bet-David is authentic in telling his story as if he were there having a fireside chat with you. Much respect! By the way, I AM #4 (PURPOSE). Continued success and blessings. GOOD STUFF.

Life Changing

As im sitting here after finishing the book and my outdoor workout All I can say is im INSPIRED.

As a kid I've always played chess with my dad and official tournaments and let me tell you this book makes a lot of sense...

Ive never thought about how you can plan for your next 5-10-15 moves ahead and win the game of life.

This gives me full clarity on what I want next to happen.

Im going for it all!!!

Do you like lists?

Because this book is full of them. Here's 7 things for this and 15 things for that. There really isn't 5 moves that they gone in on. Just random stories about mobsters and how he met people and they gave him millions of dollars. Pretty repetitive and not engaging.

Not worth the time or money

Narrator just goes on and on, making the most basic, obvious and simple things sound like he invented something groundbreaking.

Bought it based on the good reviews, but really disappointed.

At least his messages are easy to understand and explanations are clear, so giving it two stars instead of one

Honestly, This book seems like vanity project for the author. He’s just bragging all the time. I get you’re big deal, but please get over yourself will you.

Great storyteller, but

A great story teller, but the book is entirely focused on strategy (actually mostly tactics) within the parameters of starting a business/entrepreneurship. This is not what was expected. For aspiring entrepreneurs however, this is a great find.

Recycled ideas

In many instances the book sounded like a library review of self development and business books...
The book could have been shorter.

Good message, but a bit too much

I love Patrick's videos and all the stuff he does!!! Unfortunatly this book does not really make sense to me. He tells a lot of stories and examples, but i just dont get it. What am i supposed to do? Maybe im not far enough in the book, but half way through i have to stop because its just toooo much :)
There are a LOT of bullet points and wise sayings, but no actionable, useful guidence to follow.
I already forgot all the stuff he said in the beginning of the book.
To me its a bit like Tony Robbins, who stresses me out with his fast paced talking.
Patric is so to the point, and says so much, its hard to follow and to use the message for yourself.
Im not saying the message of the book is not good, because it is...its just too much to listen to ;)

Maybe its better to read this book?

Ramblings

Nothing of value here. It’s basically the personal opinions of a sales manager that wants to be a motivational coach

More of an operational playbook

He’s a very successful businessman with a fantastic formula to approach his way of working and to life. I was expecting it to be more business strategy but it appeared more a around how to approach situations. I would have enjoyed it more with deeper analysis of case studies and how they planned 5 moves ahead and then how they executed on that.

Good narration but repeating others ideas

What I didn’t like about book was repeating the contents of bestseller authors and business ideas, mixing it up with personal stories and delivering it as like it’s a novel idea or solution. I don’t really admire the authors that try to resell new ideas.
The book had a good opening and narration was good to me!
