Publisher's Summary

Sometimes love needs a second time around. Get swept up in this story of a woman finding someone when she is finally ready to love again.

Marriage is an experience that single mom Joanna Parsons doesn’t plan to repeat, no matter what her daughter thinks. Tanner Lund feels the same way. Like Joanna, he got divorced after a short, disastrous marriage, and he’s raising his daughter alone. But the girls have other plans in mind - and it involves the best friends becoming sisters. Both Tanner and Joanna are determined to avoid marriage, yet there’s no resisting their growing attraction....

narrator

The story wasn't bad but the narrator voice for the girls was very grating. Almost had to return title because of it.

Recycled from 1989

I’m a Debbie Macomber fan, but despite being advertised as published in 2021, this story felt dated. A little research showed that it was a standalone novel from 1989. I’m marking as finished and moving on.

Don’t waste your credit

Super predictable story. I feel like I wasted my credit on this one. Definitely a pass.

Sorta boring

I couldn’t give this a five star because the story just wasn’t that great. I read a lot of Debbies books but this one didn’t trip my triggers.

It all felt very middle school-ish.

It all felt very middle school-ish. The voices and dialogue of the young girls is reminiscent of a bad after-school special.

not great

This was really hard to listen to. I couldn't stand the mouthy, demanding and manipulative 11 year old. The first 14 chapters were nothing more than 2 single parents being manipulated by their kids, poor parenting and indecisiveness in their relationship. Was the child supposed to be cute? So annoying!
