Publisher's Summary

Outspoken, daring, assertive. Nothing stands in Carla Jones’ way when she has her mind made up. Carla’s witty personality is a breath of fresh air to those around her. And someone who admires Carla from afar happens to be the only person who's invaded her dreams and awakened her passion for love. The problem is whenever their paths cross, it’s for a stimulating fleeting moment. When those moments end, his silence makes Carla wonder if their chemistry is a figment of her imagination. Clueless about his disposition, Carla decides to leave her options open for love even when her soul yearns for the man of her distant dreams.

It was his heart he couldn’t ignore.

World-renowned Architect Jacob Alexander Rose wants to stick to his daily routines and career-driven focus. Relationships are a thing of his past, and they never worked in his favor. But with every event he attends, so does the one who rules his cognitive mind - Carla Jones. Sensuous thoughts of her bombard him at every turn, making Jacob wonder if colliding with Carla is a part of his future he’s determined to fight off.

Consumed with an ever-present dripping heat when their proximities converge, Jacob is torn between exploring their attraction or allowing the pain of a disappointing history to take precedence over what could’ve been.

Good Story

This was the last eligible Rose brother finding his true love. Carla & Jacob have been eyeing each other and flirting since book 4…I loved the build up….Carla & Jacob finally find the time to connect and hang out a bit, which leads to the two of them talking, taking a trip together and deciding to date exclusively. In comes the curveball, Lennox Jenkins….Carla’s Ex cheating boyfriend and Mayoral Candidate….Lennox comes in wreaking havoc, which causes a rift between Carla & Jacob….I must say, I didn’t like the way Carla decided to handle Lennox, Nevertheless, Lennox blackmails Carla and it looks like Jacob is finished with her for good until Jacob’s sister Phoebe and Tina (Carla’s best friend) help with damning information about Lennox. Something I didn’t understand is when Carla went to the doctor, why a blood & toxicology test wasn’t ran? Finally, all is resolved with Carla & Jacob and the couple get their HEA…although, there’s another twist with the students…..Of Course Wesleigh & Emmanuel Were Absolutely Amazing with the narration!

It was a good book

It was a good book however the main character Carla was extremely annoying. I’ll be honest I did feel like she didn’t deserve him. He’s literally the perfect guy. I’m happy she redeemed herself.

Not a fan

Unrealistic and over the top. Some of the dialog caused eye rolling, like realistically who would ever say that? Great narrators.

Great story. couldn't put it down.

When I 1st started listening the story was slightly slow and lacked a storyline but quickly it started to pick up I did to pick up. What kept throwing me off was that there was no real rhythm to the narration of whether it was the female narrator or the male narrator. Once I got over that the 2nd half of the story is incredible and and has that romantic feel feel that you tend to expect from a romance novel. It definitely talks about sex and doesn't wait much before it does however however once you get into the book the scenes are tastefully done. May we all find a rose.

The Narrator’s

1. I came here first because of the narrators. Both WS (Carla) and EI (Jacob) are great at using their God given talent. The two can handle a book alone and take you to another place. WS male voice is on point. And, I can relate and become one with EI’s her mentally. When EI does his female, I understand her and what he doing with her. Wow 🙂
2. Overall great, performance 🎭 again, it is why I bought more credits to get this book, and story great. Seriously, Audibles has changed things for me and I don’t have to go to the movies. I can just sit back and enjoy an audiobook while working, cleaning, cooking, or invite friends over and enjoy a good book together.
3. I enjoyed the whole book. Time well spent and not waisted. SNN, the beat down seen in the limousine was so gooooooooooood. WS (Carla), we need to be carful and alert out there when having our women bonding moments. We need to listen to that thing that tells us the truth / reality of the situation and set up boundaries on what to do to protect ourselves. Incorporating boundaries help so much in life. Thank you for showing the perspective of what happens when a man takes care of things.
P. S. You know, I would most definitely pay to see my two favorite # ☝🏽 narrators do a live reading on a small black stage wearing black, with black vailed face, because I don’t need to see you, I just want to hear you read. For now, I will enjoy you both on audible’s😁
