Story
The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Publisher's Summary
Z-Burbia
When the zombie apocalypse hits the quiet Asheville, NC, subdivision of Whispering Pines, the residents don't turn to the police or the military. Nope. They rely on their iron-fisted Home Owners Association! Which Jace Stanford and his family aren’t too keen on. Undead hordes are hard enough to deal with in a post-apocalyptic hellscape, who needs HOA fines too?
Filled with blood, gore, plenty of bad jokes, cannibals, dreaded HOA covenants, and a whole lot of snark, Z-Burbia is guaranteed to thrill and entertain!
Welcome to life in Z-Burbia!
Z-Burbia 2: Parkway to Hell
With Whispering Pines refusing to give up and die, Jace “Long Pork” Stanford has nothing better to do than find out who the heavily-armed newcomers in town are. Well, while he’s not busy dealing with the ever present Z hordes. Or running for his life from paramilitary mercenaries. Or possibly blowing up more of the zombie-infested city because he can’t help pressing buttons. Buttons are meant to be pressed, even in the apocalypse, right?
Z-Burbia 3: Estate of the Dead
Jace Stanford has lost family, friends, and his arm to the zombie apocalypse that hit his subdivision of Whispering Pines. But he’s also gained something he never in a million years would have thought would be a plus: the cannibal savant known as Elsbeth.
Now Jace needs Elsbeth’s help more than ever. But is she up to the task when her past is revealed?
A past that is possibly more shocking than the zombie apocalypse itself? Jace is gonna find out the hard way.
And, as everyone knows, in Z-Burbia the hard way usually means a whole lot of people are going to die!
Z-Burbia 4: Cannibal Road
Forced out of Asheville, Jace Stanford’s family, along with a convoy of suburbanites, misfits, criminals, and soldiers, must battle their way through the I-40 corridor of Eastern Tennessee.
When they are separated from their friends and allies in Knoxville, the Stanfords have to rely on their skills as post-apocalyptic survivors to fight off the Zs, insane Vols fans, homicidal sorority girls, and the most deadly of the post-apocalyptic threats- cannibal gangs!
No longer are the Stanfords trying to survive day by day, but hour by hour and minute by minute, as they flee Z-Burbia and race through the hellscape of Cannibal Road!
Z-Burbia 5: The Bleeding Heartland
The American Midwest was a bucolic landscape that didn’t quite adjust to the zombie apocalypse. Instead of open arms and welcoming faces, there are now open mouths and ravenous Zs. The blue collar drive to work hard has become a red-mouthed hunger for flesh.
Jace Stanford, his family, and the rag tag bunch of Whispering Pines survivors, private military contractors, laborers, and former (hopefully?) cannibals now must face the vast, exposed space of America’s Heartland in order to get to a possible sanctuary in the post-apocalyptic ruins of Boulder, Colorado.
Just a simple convoy from point A to point B, right? Yeah, right.
Z-Burbia 6: Rocky Mountain Die
With the plains to their backs, Jace Stanford and crew are just steps from their destination: the Stronghold of Boulder, CO.

An Ok post apocalypse book. Had some issues.
The main character was little more than a self absorbed, clueless teenager in an adult body. I have no problem with profanity as long as there is a point. There was a lot of pointless profanity like immature idiots will do with no point at all, other than just to hear themselves jabber. The book had some good points as a zombie book but was downplayed by the sheer stupidity of some of the character development. The narrator took away alot of fun that the book could have been. I guess it was worth listening just to kill time but just barely..........

The Worst! Not ONE original idea!
This entire book series is literally a rip off of multiple Zpoc authors ideas, concepts and even actual writing. Blatant theft.
Literally has stolen from Zombie Fallout, Adrian's Dead Diary, Undead World, Generation Z, Mountain Man.. and at least a half a dozen others. Your like wait.. this sounds familiar .. did I already hear this? Honestly the book just drones. When the author runs out of other writers works to steal ideas from he resorts to all the characters swearing every other word and the lower than low I crapped my pants. Oh dang I peed myself. Whoopise what that a shart? Yikes I did it again, pooped my pants! The best part is when he is harfing and the narrator actually makes harfing gagging noises! It's just so very bad.
We are not by any means Zpoc experts, BUT there is little on audible we have not listened to .. literally we have exceeded three thousand hours of zombie literature .. and this is in the top 5 of worst books ever.

So yes the recording was a little bit rough and spoiler alert yes it just kind of ends but what a great story I look forward to listening to it again and again is the main character who is someone you love I would like to be friends with.. The narrator was awful! He reads way to fast and is just God awful with use of different voices for different characters.
He does NOTHING for horror or zombie stories at all!!
Because of that fact I could NOT get into this series no matter how hard I tried or how many chapters I listened.
He absolutely ruined what could maybe have been a good storyline, series and characters.
Save the credit or money and find a better narrator and story.

Started my journey with this book with an element
Started my journey with this series of books with an element of doubt that soon evaporated as the story expands and unfolds and becomes a journey through the lives of many and the losses of friends as they navigate through the dangers of the walking dead and the half of humanity that losses its way in the face of the fall of our world as we know it, some may say they hate this 6 book series, but I grew to love this series of characters and horrors we as a species can do to each other we are all 3 days from the breakdown of all we know and have become increasingly interlinked with an event that will perhaps be the end of us
