Thank you zak
My 5 year old border collie/heeler mix, was having tons of behavioral issues such as aggressiveness, snapping at dogs and kids. We tried one dog trainer who taught us to “train with discipline” and we saw her behavior get even worse. When my wife found Zak’s YouTube videos we gave it a try and now 3 years later and have bought 2 of his books now she’s on a speedy recovery and has started playing with a few dogs! Thank you again for everything!

Best dog trainer
Zak is simply the most knowledgeable and professional trainer I have found on the web. Watching his youtube videos along with reading both of his books (especially this one) will solve any type of frustration you have with your dog. More importantly the outcome of zaks approach to training, helped me create the unique bond with my dog that I wanted so bad. This book is a must have!

Great guide to raise a puppy/dog.
This book is great, and i have been practicing with my puppy on basic skills since we got her 5 weeks ago. She is still bitey as most puppies are, but through these methods she is eager to learn and please me. She already has about 13 tricks under her belt, from a solid game of fetch to a little wave she just learned this morning. I watched many of his videos online as they are a great resource as well.
Positive reinforcement training is the way to go, and i'll never train any other way.
Thanks Zac for the book and the videos!

The best dog training book
As a first dog owner, I have read many dog training books and went through some courses and I found Zak’s book the best. His passion and love toward dogs made this book extremely easy to understand. This book helped me and my puppy a lot. His emphasis on how to communicate with my dog helped me and my puppy to create a strong bond. I appreciate how he logically explains why some ways of training are not successful. I want to listen to this book for the second time. It is one of the best. Thanks, Zak.

Pretty much same as his first book
Not much new over first book of you read that already. After reading both books the only thing this guy is good for is trick training, and even for that you are better off just watching the YouTube videos he has for free.
His behavioral advise most amounts to distract your dog when it is doing something bad and give it treats for doing something good after a successful distraction. Or slowly introduce things like noises that cause your dog to freak out and give treats when it ignores or focuses on you.
He even mentions in the book he can’t get his dog Venus to interact with other dogs so he trains it to lay down when a dog comes by and then physically puts himself between him and the other dog. If dog continues to bother his dog he will sometimes pick up the other person’s dog.

dont bother with this just go to his you tube vids
it's an ok book but doesn't really provide much training advice. its full of half suggestions or really vague tips, nearly every problem ends with 'go check out this you tube video' rather then him taking time to give you details in specific training.

Great Book thou Time stamps would be great.
This book was great. The slow-talking and reasoning behind doing everything are great.
The only issue is there are no timestamps anywhere so I can't navigate to certain things I want without quickly skipping around the chapters. this would not be an issue with a hardback book, however, I don't know a hardback and only have the audible book.
Non-the less I love the book but have found my self quickly taking down timestamp times for certain things I want to readdress at a later date.

Zac is an inspiration.
Due to the current world pandemic I have had to stop group dog training with my 5 month old lab. Zac's books, videos, app and Facebook group have kept me going on the training department. Zac is truely a dog whisperer and, the lovely manner in which he explains dogs and their behaviours really gives the listener great insight into how to better communicate with their fur baby. Great job Zac! Thank you
