Publisher's Summary

Saving the souls of the damned has been my job for several years now. I’ve gotten chased by demonic creatures, fallen in love with a not-so-angelic Guardian Angel, and I’ve even danced with the devil.

Yes. You heard that right. I’ve literally danced with the devil, which only stirred up more drama I didn’t need.

And to add a little more to this summary for you, (just in case you thought the chaos stopped there)...one of the biggest secrets of my life just found his way to my front doorstep. I’ve since questioned everything Hayden and the Guardian Council has ever told me.

I’m tired of rules. I’m tired of lies. I’m tired of secrets. And I’m tired of being scared. I start to push boundaries to unravel every single lie that the Guardian Council has kept hidden for years...only to find the dark truth about my mother’s murder.

And, as if saving the dead and feeling betrayed isn’t enough, a new enemy has emerged from the Dark Realm - the only one of its kind. The Phantom has been hunting me since the day I was born. And it won’t stop hunting until it finds me.

It’s time I blaze the path as Soldier of Light my own way. No matter what the cost.

There is no turning back.

third in

so if you have been following this is the third one that does pick out after the second one and doesn't really slow down with the emotional events.

Great Addition

I was so excited to get this book. It is the third in the series and you really need to have read the previous two to know what all is going on and the characters. I really can't believe all the twists and turns that happened through the book. A twin!?!? Emotional roller coaster to say the least.

This may have been my favorite book to date in this series. I truly loved watching what happened and how it unfolded. I truly just didn't want to stop listening and take breaks to do 'real life' while listening to this book. That ending though! I can't wait to see what happens next in book 4.

Zero Rising

This is the third book in the Soldier of Light Chronicles. This book picks up where book 2 ended. This book was quite a ride. I have enjoyed this series so far. I am very intrigued to see where the fourth and final book takes Evika. Amanda Roethle did a great job narrating.

I was given this free review audiobook copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Rollercoaster of emotions!

Picking up where Absolute Zero left off, Zero Rising is a rollercoaster of emotions for Evika. More secrets are revealed and the danger is closer than ever! Great story and the audio is well done and enjoyable to listen to.

Good book

Nice addition to the series. The narration is well done but this is the third narrator in three books.

Holy Wow!

Zero Rising by Ireland Gill and narrated by Amanda Roethle is the 3rd book in The Soldier of Light Chronicles. Evika is tired of all the secrets being withheld from her. Her entire life has been one huge secret. Including her own angel hiding his face from her. She fights all the rules and the betrayal from the council is the final straw. She is hiding her own secrets, and they may just get her killed. Once again Ms. Gill has written a great story with more world building.
Would I listen to this book again? Yes
Would I recommend this book to others? Yes
Ms. Roethle did a great job with this story, as this is another narrator for the series. Definitely looking forward to the next book. This is yet another doosey of a cliffhanger.

Not My Favorite

This is my least favorite entry in this series. The majority of the book is about family bonding and romance. While these are important aspects, I felt like the book was unbalanced. The ending picks up with some great action and some morally questioning actions. This gets you thinking. But then it ends with a cliche event. I look forward to the next one and accept that not all books in one series can be great.

I received an audio version from the author; all opinions are my own.

Good

Ethika really does have all the cards stacked against her . Just when she gets good news someone comes along and stomps all over it. She will do anything to protect those she loves even if those people are against her putting herself in further peril. I really enjoyed book 3 although I had presumed this was the final book it’s good to know there will be at least one more. This is the first book I have listened to by Amanda Roethle and her narration was very good.
