Publisher's Summary

A god-king disguised as a criminal defense lawyer...

Zeus/Zane, king of the Greek gods, holds the world in his palm in both his mortal and godly form...until Hera leaves him, forcing him to uphold Gaea's clause: There must always be a queen, or he loses his title and part of his power along with it. Time is short. Too bad the one woman he has his sights on wants nothing to do with him. Or does she?

An empath criminal prosecutor...

There's nothing Keira Bazin dislikes more than defense lawyers. So when she discovers Zane Vronti, one of New York's finest, has been brought in on her newest murder case, it's anything but good news. Tensions flare as the two immediately butt heads, but there's something about Zane she can't put her finger on. His emotions are the strongest she's ever felt—borderline overwhelming. Power. Lust. Command. Can she fight her growing attraction for him? Does she want to?

This is the last book in the Contemporary Mythos series. Though all can be listened to as a stand-alone, there are Easter eggs for those who listened in order as books intersect.

YE GODS.. I NEED MORE STARS

I wanted something different from my usual ‘go to’ bad boys.. and wow, who better to draw me straight into his Godly presence other than the delicious drool-worthy deity that is Zeus.. and his need to find a Queen. It was just supposed to be an easy arranged marriage proposal with the sexy Prosecution Lawyer to get both of them out of trouble.. but she’s somehow ignoring his very sensual temptations. She’s also resisting his overflowing wealth of charms and even challenges him with her quick-witted, feisty banter. The chemistry between herself and Zane, the handsome, charismatic, Godlike Lawyer for the Defence, is overwhelming and off.. the.. charts but Keira must stay strong despite his out-of-this-world sexy sizzles. But the poor woman doesn’t know who she’s up against!!

And the push ’n pull between these two loveable sweet characters was sooo enjoyable and very entertaining. Their journey was addictive and fun.. their intense chemistry was climactic, sizzling and hot.. and their happy ever after was swoon-worthy. Plus, the Duet-style Dual POV narration by Stella and Thomas, created warmth and humor to the storyline and brought charm to the characters as they bantered and battled in this well-paced wonderful story.

Worth a credit? Yes, I loved.. loved.. loved absolutely everything about this entertaining Greek fantasy/mythology story. This is my first from Carly Spade but it certainly won’t be my last.. in fact, I’m rubbing my hands with gleeful anticipation at the thought of working backward through the whole series.

Book 6 - Contemporary Mythos

This is book 6 and the last in Spade's Contemporary Mythos series and Zeus' story. I guess I should start by saying I am a huge fan of this series already and Locklear as a narrator is always a treat. Bloom did a fantastic job as well and this narration duo was SO wonderful. I adore these main characters! Zeus/Zane and Keira make the perfect pair - two peas in a pod. Both are hard core, workaholic attorneys, stubborn to a fault and find themselves in opposing council. Zane is captivated by her in a way like no other and she does not fall at his feet as all other women tend to. The king of meddlers can't seem to meddle his way with her but that doesn't keep him from trying - and it works more than he may think. My favorite is the laughs and dynamic between Keira and her bff Olivia. Overall this is such a great read / listen. Perfect balance of romance, steamy and laughs. As much as I loved it I'm sad to see it over and excited to see what's next for Spade.

I received a free copy of this book at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

Zeus will make you swoon !

I did not expect to enjoy this as much as i did. Carly Spade is a new author to me and i was delighted with her witty style. Stella Bloom and Thomas Locklear made me laugh out loud with their banter and drama. And the chemistry between H and h was off the charts! Sizzling hot but also sweet and endearing. The world and dynamics of the greek gods has always intrigued me but Zeus has always been a mystery . Well mystery no more, he might be my new favorite of them all! If you want to know how Zeus ended up a criminal lawyer in NY and was forced into a marriage by his grandmother then you will love this 😂

Zeus in a modern setting is so much fun!

When I saw the trailer for Zeus, the latest in Carly Spade’s Contemporary Mythos series, I knew I had to check it out. This is my first Carly Spade book and I can already tell it won’t be the last. Bringing a Greek god into a modern setting is such a intriguing concept and I loved the humor and wit of this story.

I’ve been a fan of Thomas Locklear for a while and his portrayal of Zeus/Zane is absolute perfection. He nails the arrogant yet somehow still charming aspect of the role and really gets to display his comedic chops as well. You can really feel the exasperation in his voice when Zeus has to deal with his “family” issues. Locklear often does solo narration roles, which is no problem as his female voice is top notch. I really enjoyed the back and forth of the duet style narration here. He and Stella Bloom as Kiera work so well off of each other.

Ms. Bloom is new to me and she is terrific as Kiera. Her character was so well developed. I loved the idea of her as an empath which makes perfect sense given her career path. She also shines equally in both the emotional and comedic aspects of the story. I also loved how well she differentiated the voices of the female characters, especially when it came to her bestie, Olivia. Olivia is such a great comic foil for Kiera. She should have her own story!

I loved the story arc and the interplay of all the characters from Greek mythology. Although I had not read the other books in the series first, I was still able to keep up with the story. I’ll definitely be adding the rest of this series to my list. Zeus was such a fun ride!

AMAZING SERIES!

This is the fifth book in the excellent Contemporary Mythos series. I love this series! Zane/Zeus and Keira's story is entertaining, funny, and sexy. The tension between these two amazing characters is sizzling hot! Keira, a criminal prosecutor, is sassy, talkative, and smart. Zeus, the king of the Greek gods disguised as a criminal defense lawyer, is sexy, charming, powerful, and enigmatic. The storyline definitely is captivating. Some scenes are hilarious! Stella Bloom and Thomas Locklear did an OUTSTANDING job with the narration. They are perfect as Zeus and Keira. I love their voices together. I HIGHLY recommend this series.

My Favorite!

Zeus is another fantastic addition to Carly Spade's Contemporary Mythos series. The story is a wonderfully written marriage of convenience/arranged marriage romance. It's skillfully plotted with well-developed and memorable characters. Keira and Zane's personalities appealed to me from the get-go. Zeus is Zane, a handsome, alluring, charismatic, sophisticated, and successful defence attorney searching for his Queen. Keira is that said Queen, beautiful, feisty, witty, intelligent and just as successful prosecutor. Their connection was natural, undeniable, and wrapped in sensuality, mutual desire, and fiery passion. The chemistry was utterly explosive; Keira withstanding Zane's charms and challenged him at every turn.

The narration was perfect! Thomas Locklear and Stella Bloom performed incredibly. They embodied the characters, portraying the nuances of their emotions, appeal, and attraction flawlessly. They breathed life into Carly Spade's words and her characters, making the story even more engaging. Zeus was a thoroughly enjoyable listen, packed with humor, witty banter, steam, drama, and so much more. I'm definitely recommending this audiobook.

Zeus!

This is the latest story in the "Contemporary Mythos" series. It is a stand alone read wtih connected characters or should we say Gods. It is a nicely developed story about Zeus, the Greek God, finally finding his fated queen and getting a second chance. Keira is a prosecutor with a winning streak. She is professional and confident in the courtroom and wins every case. It does not help that she is an empath. Her next case is against Zane Vronti who is just as tough and cocky as all get out. The attraction between them is instant but she definitely gives him a challenge. I really did not like Zane but Keira brought out the best him and slow his armor cracked. This is such a great story that I was glued to from beginning to end. The story has some suspense, hot erotic moments, some drama, a touch of crazy, passion and romance. I think the narrators did a good job with the story as well. I like that there were two narrators for this story. It really added to the story.

Zeus

Yes this book is part of a series, however each book can be read as a standalone. I’ve listend to book one, Hades, and this one. I was not lost in the slightest for not reading or listening to the others.
Zane/Zeus is in quite the predicament in needing to find a new queen. However, he’s searching for something a bit more. Then he falls for the opposing counsel and things really start to heat up. Kiara is a prosecuting attorney that can’t stand defense lawyers, until she meets Zane. Both characters really grow and mature throughout this book, and the dual narrative is spot on. Stella and Thomas really do make a dynamic team. If you enjoy the Mythical Greek Gods then definitely listen to this one.

Wow loved

The dual narration of Stella Bloom and Thomas Locklear, could not be any more perfect. Brilliant.

Kiera is a prosecuting attorney who wins all her cases . Her dislike for defence lawyers is strong and Zane Vronti is one that she really detests. When he shows up as the defence attorney for a case she is prosecuting , she knows she's going to have to give her best performance.
Zane is actually Zeus, not just a god but the King of the gods and he has a problem. His wife, Queen Hera, left him and he has a short time to find a new queen, or he will lose some of his powers.
I was laughing , I was shouting NO and Oh sweet lord . This book has it . The heat , the humour , action. LOVED

Wonderful addition to the series

What a brilliant story. Zues is everthing you would expect him to be cocky, arragont and sexy as all get out. When the story started I found very little to like about Zues's character, but that changed. Keira hates defence lawyers and guess who she she is against in court Zane (Zeus)
Zeus knows what he wants Keira the only woman immune to his godly charisma. This is a great series. I can't recommend it enough.
