Life was bad and getting worse in the depths of Salvation. It did not take the people of Level Three long to realize that the only reason they had been spared from the cataclysm was to become a slave class. Now, a single accident has changed everything. Fear is spreading like a virus. Rumors become facts the moment they’re spoken. Neighbor is turning against neighbor. And time is running out fast. For most, this signals the end. Story
As anarchy and civil war took grip across the globe, Britain was quarantined. The press was nationalized, and martial law, curfews, and rationing were implemented. It wasn't enough. An evacuation was planned. The inland towns and cities of the United Kingdom were to be evacuated to defensive enclaves being built around the coast and the Scottish Highlands and in the Irish Republic. For George Tull and the other residents of the Waverly-Price Retirement Home, walking to the coast is not an option.

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Publisher's Summary
At the end of the world, the zombies are sometimes not the scariest monsters. The evil that now hides among the sheep seeking to devour its very heart.
Pastor Mike Brown and his wife, Lauren, are loved by the congregation of the church that rose from the ashes of the zombie apocalypse so much so the pair have convinced their followers that something they once thought of as demonic and forbidden is now acceptable if not ordained: cannibalism. But a darker secret, now discovered, could destroy everything. As Guntersville Island’s fledgling government has attempted to solve the mystery of a growing number of missing children, it has been implicated in the very inhuman crimes it has sought to solve by none other than the messianic leader. Forced to go to war with the very people it has sought to protect. Is the Nash worth saving? Will Mortimer make it out before the turf war turns the city into scorched earth?
Meanwhile, on the Viva Ancora, Mo, Smokes, and the remainder of the main protagonists are faced with the possible loss of an important member of its crew. Of course, a given: Mo’s constant complaining never ceases. Will evil win the battle for control of paradise? Who can stop the sadistic actions of a crowd driven by faith and hunger? Where have all the heroes gone? It’s the end of the world as we know it. Join us, friend. In places where the zombies bite....fish bite....life always bites....and some people bite and eat you!

A Wild Ride Through The ZA Continues...
Book nine of the Zombie Upheaval story does not disappoint! For those unfamiliar with the series, imagine the zombie apocalypse as envisioned by "Beevis and Romero". Author Javon Bonds serves up delectable characters with a heaping helping of graphic gore (as well as copious penis and poop jokes.) Do yourself a favor and read this book. Funny as always with requisite gore!
What is a zombie books without lots of blood guts, poop, oh and let's throw in cannibalism for shits and giggles, because that is what this series is all about! (shit and giggles, get it? Javan, don't worry I won't be stealing your thunder any time soon.)
The perfect narraration makes the spectrum of emotions come alive in this book. If you happen to start with this book, don't hesitate to get the two omnibus that will get you 1 - 8. you won't regret it. They will keep you laughing out loud.

What a ride
Pastor Brown is still serving BBQ to the masses, the congregation finds out what they have been eating, and is accepting of this new way of life. Meanwhile the rest of the town is fighting the rumors they had something to do with the missing children and has started a civil war on the island. Mo is still here complaining away like normal, but the crew on the Viva Ancora is dealing with losing one of their own as Easy’s girl gets bit by one of the blunitics.
I really enjoy this series. Even when it gets bloody, messy, and a lot of bodies are left behind. This book has a lot of bodies left behind, a lot. Narrator S.W. Salzman will forever be Mo, and Smokes no matter what. This team of author and narrator have clicked and they really draw you into the story. This series might not be for everyone, but for everyone else this is a ride of a lifetime.

Mind blown!
Could not wait to read the next installment in Javan Bond's Still Alive series.
My god it did not disappoint.
Twists, turns and drama in this zompoc series fill every page.
Every death described in such exquisite gory detail the likes of which I've rarely seen in a book haha.
The characters have grown so much throughout the series that you get to know them so well, some you love, others you hate with a passion !
This is down to Javan's skill as an author, to be able to completely immerse the reader into the apocalypse and all its filthy, gory horror filled mayhem.
I could not stop listening only stopping to read it in kindle when I wasn't lol
SW Salzman has throughout the series amazed me with the voices and depth he adds to the characters
I litterally couldn't imagine anyone else reading this series to me
This whole series makes the likes of the walking dead seem like a kiddies bedtime story !
You will not be disappointed
Cannot wait for the next installment
